Death of Pope Francis: Message from the President of AMU

AMU with renewed impetus is committed to implementing the teachings of Pope Francis

In these days we are witnessing numerous expressions of esteem, affection and gratitude for Pope Francis and his incessant work for peace and justice, for his humble and modest style, for his ability to listen to everyone and to be listened to by everyone. Although he sometimes provocatively stated that the Church is not an NGO (which is also right and true), we know how much he appreciated and cared about the commitment to the least, the innocent victims, the builders of Peace, and the many NGOs that concretely operate in these areas.

AMU, with renewed enthusiasm, is also committed to implementing these teachings and joins the many people and associations that share these ideals.

We also hope that the public expressions of esteem from political figures that reach us with particular emphasis from the main media, will make possible radical and urgent changes in public policies regarding reception, disarmament, suspension of conflicts, peace and social justice, and the rights of future generations to inhabit a clean and welcoming world.

Stefano Comazzi, President of AMU
